His Divine Guidance System

Love Songs for the Lord

Saint Theresa's Prayer

May today there be peace within.  May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.   May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.  May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.

Cruising the Inland Passage from Healing the Body with Soul (c) 2005 Jaclyn Henderson

Tempered motion now                      turbulence became a                            coherent straight line                                  from what was once mocked.          Dissonance on either side                        hissed for attention,                                      but now the peaceful channel                       has given itself over to a                          gliding time, unharnessed,                   unwitting, uninviting.

The future disappears with the past        fogged-in or healed now,                       cradled to keep out the deep water.           Only stillness rocks this newborn,               with a gentle slow of rise, fall.

Happy now, with nothing to do                    but glide in, out                                              of reach, sight                                     watching, waiting for this                            new Buddha stirring,                               smiling.

    Wisdom of Heaven God's Home

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." (Gen. 1:1)

"Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the land which thou hast given us, as thou swarest unto our fathers, a land that floweth with milk and honey."  (Deut. 26:15)

"Is not God in the height of heaven?  and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!  Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven" (Job 22:12)

"For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones." (Isa. 57:15)

"Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory." (Isa. 63:15)

"Thus saith the Lord, the heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool:" (Isa. 66:1)

"Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens, til the Lord look down, and behold from heaven." (Lam. 3:41)

"But I swear unto you, Swear not at all: neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: That you may be children of your Father which is in heaven:" (Matt. 5:34, 45)

"Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.  But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven." (Matt. 10:32)

"And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my father which is in heaven." (Matt. 16:17)

"Our Father which art in heaven," (Matt. 18:19, 14, Mark 11:25, 26)

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men." (Rom. 1:18)

"Now the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens:" (Heb. 8:1)

"And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour." (Rev. 8:1)

"And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon: and the dragon fought and his angels.  And prevailed not; neither was their place found anymore in heaven.  And the great dragon was cast out, that old servant, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." (Rev. 12:7-9)

"And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.  And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.  And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.  And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.  And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.  And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever wotketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life."   (Rev. 21: 22-24)

"And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.  In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.  And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it: and his servants shall serve him:  And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.  And there shall be no night there; and they need no cancle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign forever and ever." (Rev. 22:1-5)

The Gift of Illness         for Heather McHugh from Annunciation, Mystic Songs

Maybe when you find

the seed I planted

when the wind swirled red

for then I dug it deep

through curled brown leaves

to plant my longing strong

to be released.

Maybe now the trees

are letting go their green

along the artist's walk

where mists meet

the maker's feet

transform themselves translucent

to release.

Maybe then I'll pass this illness

from my lips

to sing my King

and swirl the mists

from longing light to radiance,

from baser hands

to miracles released.

Rules for Being Human

1.  You will receive a body.  You may like it or hate it, but it will be yours for the entire period this time around.

2.  You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called life.  Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons.  You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant and stupid.

3.  There are no mistakes, only lessons.  Growth is a process of trial and error experimentation.  The "failed" experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiment that ultimately "works."

4.  A lesson is repeated until it is learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it.  When you have learned it, you can then go on to the next lesson.

5.  Learning lessons does not end.  There is no part of life that does not contain its lessons.  If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.

6.  "There" is no better than "here."  When your "there" has become "here," you will simply obtain another "there" that will, again, look better than "here."

7.  Others are merely mirrors of you.  You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.

8.  What you make of your life is up to you.  You have all the tools and resources you need.  What you do with them is up to you.  The choice is yours.

9.  Your answers lie inside you.  The answers to life's questions lie inside you.  All you need to do is look, listen and trust.

10.  You will forget all this.  (anonymous)

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Heb. 11: 1)

Fragment

An incomplete part of me breaks off                              and goes down the drainpipe without a paddle,               for I have nowhere to go now, except into myself,      newly born again.

Let's start, shall we?                                                    Sing a new song for life is everlasting                             and the legion has one voice that sings in harmony.

We're an army, this one being,                                        but we're not out just on manuevers.                             Step in line! Be together now, forever and a day.

You see, the beat of love doesn't die, it goes on...         The heart pumps a venous flow of blood                     back into itself.  Over and over again,                                I flow into me.

It's a sure thing! We can't fall apart,                               just because we left pieces of ourselves out in the rain.   All fragments come together as the Holy Spirit moves.    All is forgiven, all are welcome.

Love the darkness on the path                                      that seems to barr your way                                                                                                  for Love lights the path!

Feed Call , Communion for the Earth  Written 11/03/07                                                                              (How to deal with the ecological crisis we created:)

Press the button and let the cycle turn.  It's unstoppable, this movement towards ignorant climax.  Everybody's doing it, so you can't stop it by yourself, and you can never turn it off.

You're in a hidden, splendid terror that everybody sees, but no one knows how to stop.

What exactly is going on that you don't want to talk about in the illustrious, hidden interior, and why are you suddenly so quiet?  Cat got your tongue, or are you just all dressed-up with nowhere to go?

Looks like you're all dried-up too, so just let it go.  Let go of your addiction to calamity, your expression going nowhere fast.

He loves you. Get with the program.  Trust the process that you helped to create (own what you've done),        love Him, and weep for joy.
